  • The internet is a big place. Content helps the right people find you.

I’ll work with your editorial and content marketing teams to craft search engine optimized content. I’ll write informational posts, reviews, comparison articles, or newsletter copy.

I can also help you repurpose podcasts and videos into written content or distill larger pieces of content into short-form copy for social media.

I’ve worked with digital publications, media outlets, and individual content creators for digital and print formats. Here are some of my current and past clients:

    • Business Insider

    • Erika Kullberg

    • Forbes Advisor

    • Future Commerce

    • Investopedia

    • Investor Junkie (now Moneywise)

    • theSkimm

    • The College Investor

    • Worth Magazine

    How We’ll Work Together

Reach out and let me know you’re interested. We can hop on a call or exchange emails to discuss your needs and budget. If everything looks good we’ll sign a contract.

Once everyone has signed on the dotted line you can begin assigning me work (or let me know if you’re ready for pitches). You’ll schedule the work that needs to be completed and provide me with any style guides.

I’ll send you a first draft. If you need edits, send it back to me. If it’s good to go, you’ll carry it across the finish line.

I invoice once a month. I’ll send you an invoice at the beginning of the next month for the previous month’s work.

  • Trust is the currency of today’s economy. Your word is your trust.

You might have some really good thoughts but you don’t have the time or energy to get them down on paper. That’s where I come in. I’ll help you use your own words to establish thought leadership in the public domain.

I’ve worked with venture capitalists and startup founders to write essays and op-eds on sites like Substack.

    How We’ll Work Together

Reach out and let me know that you want help with writing thought leadership. We’ll hop on a call to discuss what you’re looking for.

At this point, we’ll either sign a contract or we’ll amicably part ways. There won’t be any follow-up calls to “discuss” or “brainstorm” your ideas.

Once we have a contract in place, I’ll schedule a time to do an in-depth call with you to discuss article topics. While I can help steer the ship, so to speak, you are the captain. I’ll look to you for the topics that you have a burning desire to write about.

After we select a topic, I’ll begin the research part of my writing process. I’ll look for data to support your claims and I’ll do recorded interviews with you so I can write using your words.

I’ll send you an unedited first draft once it’s ready. You’ll review it for substance and to make sure the words accurately reflect what you want said.

You’ll send the draft back to me for revisions. I’ll make any adjustments that are needed to the text then I’ll begin the editing process.

I’ll send a final draft to you for review. Once you give me the greenlight, I’ll work with your team to get it posted or you’ll share your login credentials with me.

I’ll share the live article link with you. Depending on the scope of work, I’ll also help you distribute your article on social media or via email.

I invoice a monthly retainer at the beginning of each month. Placements are billed separately.

If you’re ready to get started, send me an email with your upcoming availability to schedule a call.

  • Whether you’re starting a company or running a nonprofit, you need money to keep the lights on. Grants can be a good way to help you fund your efforts.

As a former defense contractor, I’ve been part of the decision-making process to award training and equipping contracts. I understand how funding decisions are made and can help you navigate the grant writing process.

Aside from that, I’ve previously worked with clients on National Science Foundation SBIR Phase I grants.

    How We’ll Work Together

Email me and let me know you need help with a grant. Tell me about what you do and the grant(s) you’re going for.

If I think I can help you, we’ll schedule a call to talk about your needs in greater detail.

After the call we’ll either sign a contract to begin working together or we’ll amicably part ways.

Once a contract is in place, we’ll do a formal kickoff. I’ll work with you to create a project timeline with key milestones. We’ll create a standing meeting to periodically check in and make sure everything is going according to schedule.

I’ll work with you to develop each segment of the grant proposal. Once it’s complete, you’ll help me convene a panel of outside experts and advisors who are familiar with your work to review it.

I’ll incorporate feedback into the draft and make final edits. I’ll turn over the proposal to you and you’ll be responsible for submitting it to the agency offering the grant.

I invoice grant writing as a retainer plus award fee. We’ll agree to a monthly retainer and if you win, I’ll invoice a percentage of the grant value as a separate award fee.

Send me an email to get started.

  • Your stakeholders want to hear from you. Whether it’s a report for your board of directors, internal documentation for your employees, or an impact statement for your community, a report can be a useful way to communicate what you’re doing and why it matters.

I’ve previously worked at financial institutions where I drafted impact reports for key leadership and partnered with venture capital firms to document how their portfolio companies were making an impact.

    How We’ll Work Together

Email me and let me know you need help writing a report. Tell me about who the intended audience for your report is and what you hope to accomplish with it.

We’ll schedule a call to talk about your needs in greater detail.

After the call we’ll either sign a contract to begin working together or we’ll amicably part ways.

Once it’s complete, I’l send it to you for review. We’ll go through a round of revisions. I’ll incorporate feedback into the draft and make final edits. I’ll turn over the report to you and you’ll be responsible for disseminating it to its respective audiences.

We’ll agree to a flat project fee for the report. I’ll invoice a deposit before we get started. I’ll invoice at mutually agreed upon intervals until the project is complete.

  • Conferences can be overwhelming. There’s a lot happening and while attendees may want to go to talks and take notes, they might not be able to.

I’ll attend your conference to provide you with post-marketing collateral for attendees and sponsors. I’ll take notes and help you write post-conference reports and draft summaries to send to key stakeholders. You’ll have something to offer well after the conference ends, building a lasting relationship with stakeholders that will boost ticket sales and sponsorships for conferences you hold in the future.

    How We’ll Work Together

Email me and let me know you’d like post-conference marketing support. Tell me about what you’re conference is and what you’re hoping to get out of working together.

We’ll schedule a call to talk about your needs in greater detail.

After the call we’ll either sign a contract to begin working together or we’ll amicably part ways.

If you decide to sign a contract, we’ll develop a scope of work. You’ll let me know what deliverables you need and how long you expect working together.

You’ll provide me with complimentary admission to your conference. For conferences outside of Austin, you’ll cover travel, hotels, and meals.

After the conference I’ll send you raw notes, transcripts, and/or summaries. If you hire me to develop post-conference marketing materials, we’ll develop a timeline to work on that.

We’ll agree to a flat project fee. I’ll invoice a deposit before we get started. I’ll invoice at mutually agreed upon intervals until the project is complete.

  • You might be looking for help with a writing project that isn’t listed here. Maybe you need to revamp your website’s copy or maybe you need writing support for your school’s next alumni magazine release.

If you have something else you need help with, send me an email and let me know.

I can’t recommend Amanda enough. Not only is she reliable and flexible, but she’s a highly skilled writer with a knack for research and a penchant for turning in drafts that often require only light editing or fine-tuning. She is more driven than most writers I’ve worked with to explore topics deeply, and she’s willing to learn about new subjects and dive into data—and, in fact, eager to go beyond the confines of SEO briefs and think bigger than competitors.
