FAQs

Depending on the project, we’ll establish what work you’d like me to do and when you need it completed by. I’ll send you drafts and you’ll either approve the draft or send it back to me for revision. Once it’s complete, it’s yours to do with it as you please. I’ll send you an invoice at the beginning of the next month for completed work. You’ll pay me and we’ll keep going for as long as you need.

No.

Work begins when we’ve signed a contract and you’ve put a deposit down to begin work.

Depends on the project scope and your needs. You may hear from me on a regular basis or you may only hear from me when I’m ready to turn in a draft.
At the end of the day you are hiring me to write for you – not attend meetings. If you’ll need me to pop into Zoom calls or stay active on your company’s Slack channel, let me know and we’ll set up a retainer. -
This is like asking a carpenter if they use a nail gun when they’re building houses.
Yes, I use ChatGPT. I use it during the research process and to help me tighten copy when I have a draft ready to go. I don’t give ChatGPT a prompt asking me to write a draft, and then submit that draft to you as my own work.
I also use ChatGPT for other projects like auditing my time, developing my Annual Plan, and studying economics.

I don’t miss deadlines.
That being said, sometimes life happens. I can’t control when I get sick just like you might not be able to control when things suddenly go south in your business.
When we get started we’ll agree to a communications protocol. I’ll give you advanced warning if I think a deadline might be slipping. There will be language in the contract to protect you if I fail to turn in a deliverable.
There will also be language in the contract to protect me if you go MIA.

Sometimes.
I don’t outsource my writing work, but I do outsource some work related to content performance.
For example, I’m not an SEO strategist. I don’t have a membership to Ahrefs and I can’t tell you which keyword might rank better than another. But there are lots of skilled people on Upwork and Fiverr who can.
I work with virtual assistants to help me do things like keyword research, lead generation, design work, and site audits. I won’t bill you for this work but depending on the needs of your project I may subcontract some of it out.

Yes and no. I’m willing to help you find a home for your article in a major publication but I’m not a seasoned journalist nor am I a Rolodex. I might not have the connections you expect and don’t want to set you up with unmet expectations.
If you’d like help placing an article, I’m more than willing to help you. We’ll outline this in contract. Just be aware that I don’t have The New York Times’ editorial board on speed-dial. I’m not friends with Joe Rogan. I can’t guarantee placement, let alone in a major publication.
